GEORGETOWN — November 2, 2026. Georgetown Divide Public Utility District explains that its drinking water originates in the Sierra Nevada, flows into Stumpy Meadows Reservoir and is processed at treatment plants serving different parts of the Divide.
Which plant serves Georgetown
GDPUD says the Walton Lake Water Treatment Plant supplies Georgetown, Garden Valley, Kelsey and Greenwood. The Auburn Lake Trails plant serves other communities such as Cool, Pilot Hill and much of Auburn Lake Trails.
Reports describe a public system, not individual plumbing
The district publishes its 2025 consumer water quality report and previous reports. A public water-quality report should not be interpreted as proof of what is inside a particular home’s water heater or plumbing.
How to ask questions
Customers can contact the district at 530-333-4356, review system reports and check for any newer boil-water or maintenance advisories. System information changes with seasons and operating conditions.
